For me handwriting rather than typing such as a grocery list usually results in my not often needing to refer to it. Perhaps you remember as I do when in elementary school the teacher assigning you to copy your week’s spelling words 10 daily every day, Monday through Thursday, in preparation for Friday’s spelling test.

True. Chinese emperor punishes their loved ones by ordering them to write out Buddhist’s scriptures by the thousands.
Myself screenshot and copies Buddhist teaching’s Q&A from You Tube, then writes them into text books.
It’s VERY effective in helping one to understand and digest better whence each word is being written down along.
When coming to how brain and mind works it’s all pure complexities. Hand writing them out is the best remedy.
Now towards more digitalizations AI and whatnots many will disagree. So be it just as the Dao (Tao) said let the nature flow. To the moon with rockets or via submarine into the deep ocean no matter how impatient one is Nature is the way. (Sir/Mdm please edit as you please but my full agreement to the effectiveness of hand writing STANDS). May all timely hit nature and quickly percept the true nature in us all so as to escape the untold long sufferings but short happiness in humanities 🙏🙏🙏.

I tried this on myself once! not quite a formal study, but I tried learning American Sign Language (as a hearing person previously unaware of Deaf culture) from scratch, and when I was relaxing between learning I watched my way through the show “Switched At Birth” which spends a lot of time having characters using accurate ASL to communicate dialog.

It was the fastest I ever became fluent in something. About 3 months.

Maybe just anecdotal, but I can personally recommend it and am excited to see formal research moving in this direction. :)

This could be a very crucial finding since breathing practices were linked to altered states of consciousness among ancient Yogis from what is known today as India and part of China Called Tibet.
More research is needed to know how and what regions of the brain are activated or calmed and what is the mysterious Kundalini awakening.
Then there will be no more mysteries associated with yoga.
There weren’t any sophisticated devices available once and hence the ” mystery” associated.

Typing means alternatively hitting keys with all your 10 fingers and not hitting a key with the same finger repeatedly. It would be extremely awkward to type with only one finger… such a study cannot convince me…

This is pretty much assumed.However in trying to make science out of this you miss a few necessary facts. in order for rumination to have any effect, there has to be underlying self- worth beliefs and meaning connected to whatever it is they are ruminating about. The true garbage is the stuff people in relationships with them put into their minds. if they believe they are unwanted or worthless, that’s where the rumination will go. and inside that locked world there is nothing in there to challenge the meaning they make. Rumination is a process and a behavior the information and individual meaning of the messages lies outside of the rumination process.

When I was the poor kid in an affluent school I was bullied relentlessly while the teachers and administration did nothing to stop it. When you force a kid into survival mode before they’re 10 years old and they spend years in that mindset, you can forget about getting that kid to EVER trust authority or conform to social norms, and that’s IF they make it to full adulthood without self destructing first.
Let the rich kids stay with their ilk and let the poor kids stay in their zone. These two groups are raised with 2 very different sets of standards and should not have to suffer each other’s existence.

Wonder why adolescent guys were excluded. Don’t they experience social rejections that impact their self-image, too? I’d be interested in knowing, or knowing why they focused exclusively on girls. It seems beneficial to have a mix of sexes to know what is mainly a female response vs. what’s simply human response to rejection.

An outdated certification,of sorts, but extremely beneficial as a teacher and also a school administrator: Handwriting Analyst. My certificate after two years of classes and exams is dated 1970. I used this study in helping many high school students and ,administratively, in the hiring of staff. Without disclosing my ‘skill’ in examining the ‘specimen’ (called back in the day) in addition to a resume and intuition, it was an extremely helpful tool used to help others and/or the hiring process.
